Conducted by the brokerage firm ESS Bourse in its capacity as lead manager, this record capital raising enabled the Gabonese Treasury to collect more than double its initial target of 85 billion FCFA. The realization of this listing remains subject to the completion of standard technical formalities, including the officialization of the escrow account with the central bank and the approval of the financial market regulator.
Structured in two distinct tranches, the issuance includes a main compartment comprising 15.72 million securities remunerated at 6% net over the 2026–2029 period, as well as a complementary line of 1.64 million bonds carrying a 6.5% net rate to maturity in 2030.
This financial configuration demonstrates the marked appetite of institutional investors for the Gabonese signature, whose position as the leading sovereign issuer on the financial market is considerably strengthened by this liquidity injection.
Upon completion of the final regulatory diligences, the integration of these new securities will bring Gabon’s total bond outstanding to approximately 856 billion FCFA, raising its share to over 60% of the regional bond market.
This dynamic illustrates Libreville’s centrality in animating the capital markets of the CEMAC zone, while offering investors new investment instruments backed by attractive return prospects.
