Approved by the Board of Directors of the lending institution, this large-scale project stands out for its technical ambition and operational segmentation. The main alignment, stretching nearly 218.9 kilometers, has been divided into three distinct lots covering the segments from Bekoko to Penja, from Penja to the Nkam Bridge, and from the Nkam Bridge to Bandjoun, with execution timelines ranging between 42 and 48 months. Alongside the main carriageway, the program also includes the construction of about 100 kilometers of local and rural roads, as well as the building or rehabilitation of socio-economic infrastructure of proximity, such as health facilities, educational establishments, and commercial equipment.

Although the tender procedures and company selection have been anticipated under the auspices of the bank’s authorizations, the legal formalization of the agreement remains pending final national administrative arbitrations, notably the issuance of habilitation decrees. Once these formalities are cleared, the deployment of this structuring project will profoundly transform traffic conditions on this vital axis, reducing transport times and securing the movement of goods between the port metropolis and the Western Region.
