Approved by the General Assembly, this equity participation positions the BDEAC among the key institutional shareholders of this leading structure, called upon to definitively assume the settlement-delivery responsibilities previously carried out on a transitional basis by the BEAC.

This operation forms part of the broader reform initiated to unify the financial markets of the sub-region. The institutional framework now rests on a balanced triad, combining COSUMAF for regulation, BVMAC for securities trading, and the DCU for the securing and settlement of operations. For the BDEAC, the effective launch of this infrastructure must substantially enhance liquidity, transparency, and security in the stock market, thereby offering a powerful catalyst to mobilize the savings needed to finance major development projects in the CEMAC zone.

The shareholding structure of the entity has progressively consolidated, notably marked by the involvement of the central bank, which had authorized the release of a significant share tranche and a temporary holding of shares. The constitutive assembly held in Yaoundé enabled the formalization of subscriptions by the various stakeholders, adoption of the statutes, and installation of governance bodies. Through this investment, the regional institution reaffirms its commitment to deepening capital markets, providing the economies of the Community with an additional lever to diversify their financing sources beyond traditional banking channels.
