This initiative aligns with global requirements set forth by ICAO, particularly through the CORSIA mechanism for emissions compensation and reduction. The stated objective is to provide airlines with local refueling opportunities in the long term, while stimulating value creation for the national economy.

Benefiting from financial and logistical support from the European Union under the Global Gateway project and the pilot initiative conducted with a dozen African states, the work brings together international experts and representatives from sectoral administrations. In-depth discussions held during plenary sessions enabled analysis of biomass resource mapping, emerging conversion technologies, and regulatory certification imperatives essential for establishing viable regional value chains.

A ten-day field investigation phase follows these sessions, mobilizing technical teams for direct visits to industrial structures and local agro-industrial complexes. The final conclusions of this assessment, expected within six months, will lead to the development of an operational roadmap aimed at positioning the country on the map of producers of ecological aviation fuels for tomorrow.
