This consultation served as a framework to examine the essential levers of action needed to sustain Cameroon’s health architecture and optimize the impact of ongoing prevention programs. A funding of 205 million euros, or approximately 134 billion CFA francs, was thus announced to cover the new cooperation cycle 2027-2029.


This financial support continues the massive inflows injected by the international organization on national territory over the past twenty years, during which cumulative investments surpassed the one-billion-dollar mark. Previous financings primarily targeted the containment of major pandemics and the improvement of local hospital technical platforms. Consolidating this partnership dynamic will enable Cameroonian authorities to address persistent human development challenges and increase population resilience against epidemiological emergencies.

The strengthening of this partnership occurs as the country seeks to sustain its social gains amid budgetary pressures and the demands of universal health coverage. Discussions held between ministry department experts and institution representatives also allowed for addressing grant traceability and optimization of the supply chain for essential health products. 


Furthermore, ensuring optimal use of allocated funds remains a crucial challenge to transform these endowments into concrete improvements on the ground, benefiting reference health facilities and the most vulnerable populations.
