According to data provided by the Kribi Autonomous Port (PAK), customs services in this jurisdiction have already accumulated 162.9 billion CFA francs in revenue since the beginning of 2026. This performance represents exactly 48.6% of the 335.4 billion CFA francs collected by this same sector throughout 2025. Since the launch of its commercial operations in March 2018, when collections amounted to 15.7 billion CFA francs, financial contributions have experienced explosive growth to reach 335.4 billion CFA francs in 2025, thus surpassing the cumulative threshold of 1.2 trillion CFA francs over the 2018-2025 period.
This dynamic is also illustrated through the demanding monthly targets set by the General Directorate of Customs, which notably expected 36.4 billion CFA francs in March 2026 and 35.9 billion CFA francs in April 2026, following an announcement of 35 billion CFA francs as early as January. At the macroeconomic level, the 2026 Finance Law aims to collect 1.2432 trillion CFA francs in national customs revenue, an increase of 99.2 billion CFA francs or 8.7% compared to the 1.144 trillion CFA francs target set in 2025. Nevertheless, the administration faces a nuanced start to the fiscal year, showing national customs revenue of 260.9 billion CFA francs between January and March 2026 against a target of 292.4 billion CFA francs, representing an achievement rate of 89.2% and a collection shortfall of 31.5 billion CFA francs.
This fiscal vitality finds its direct foundation in the remarkable expansion of volumes handled by the port, particularly stimulated by the commissioning of Phase II in May 2025. For the sole fiscal year 2025, the complex recorded 559 port calls and handled 555,398 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), compared to 304,546 TEUs in 2024, materializing a spectacular progression of approximately 82% and now capturing 37.5% of national containerized traffic. This trend continues into the early months of the current year, with PAK having recorded 275 port calls between January and May 2026, accompanied by 339,000 TEUs handled and approximately 3 million tonnes of goods processed outside transshipment, confirming Kribi's preponderant role in the country's customs architecture.
