The intervention of the multilateral lender, presented to institutional investors in Douala on July 29, 2026, and subject to the prior validation of its board of directors, guarantees coverage of 53% of the operation, leaving a balance of 6.1 billion FCFA to be placed on the sub-regional bond market.
The bond issue involves 1.3 million securities with a nominal unit value of 10,000 FCFA, negotiable until the closing date set for August 7, 2026. To capture regional savings, the specialized financing institution has increased the returns served compared to the previous year's placement. The three-year tranche offers a gross annual coupon of 6.60% (+60 basis points), while the five-year maturity proposes a rate of 7.20% (+20 basis points). The adjustment of the cost of resources follows the operation of the previous year, during which the structure raised 9.002 billion FCFA out of an initial target of 10 billion FCFA, recording a 90% absorption rate.
The deployment of funds is part of a multi-year plan to mobilize 15 billion to 22 billion FCFA of fresh resources per year, essential to support an estimated annual expansion rate of credit portfolios of 10%. The collected liquidity feeds the portfolio of acquisition of production tools for small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the construction, trade, and industrial transformation sectors, compensating for the requirements of traditional banking networks.
