Driven by the entrepreneurial vision of industrialist Francis Nana Djomou and piloted on the banking side by Managing Director Abakal Mahamat, this partnership aims to intensify local manufacturing, valorize national resources, and reduce dependence on external supplies.
This industrial facility, resulting from an initial investment of 17.5 billion CFA francs backed by a partnership with the Spanish AJE group, illustrates the ongoing diversification dynamic, targeting the creation of nearly 900 direct jobs.
Beyond this installation, this agreement fits within BGFIBank Cameroon's global trajectory, which positions it as a pivotal actor in financing the real economy across the country.
The institution claims to have mobilized over 710 billion CFA francs to date to support more than 150 structuring projects. Among the bank's recent achievements are major interventions in sectors as varied as energy, metallurgy, and large-scale hospitality. The institution notably led as lead arranger a consortium to raise 120 billion CFA francs destined for public participation in the modular refinery project at Kribi port led by CSTAR, while acting as co-arranger for the PROALU plant for aluminum transformation by Alucam. Its financial footprint also extends to the Kempinski Shekinah Palace mega-complex in Bonanjo with a substantial advance for studies and structuring of a senior debt of 92.3 billion CFA francs, as well as to industrial modernization programs in the Grand North, including strategic support to Sodecoton and a partnership focused on environmental sustainability with promoter Kate Kanye-Tometi.
By joining forces, the two institutions illustrate the vitality of a national capitalism seeking economic sovereignty. By accompanying investors end-to-end in their productive ambitions, the bank confirms its will to anchor its action as close as possible to the industrial realities of the territory, transforming large-scale projects into concrete pillars of regional macroeconomic growth.
