At the heart of this field visit, the Minister demanded the maintenance of a daily volume of 200 metric tons of butane for the sole political metropolis, a threshold deemed imperative to progressively saturate distribution networks, absorb precautionary purchases driven by consumer anxiety, and restore commercial balances to normal.
This ministerial mobilization follows an in-depth diagnosis of the logistics chain, from bottling centers to final retail points. Discussions held with the general management of the public enterprise and private fillers have highlighted the bottlenecks weighing on the productive apparatus, notably the congestion of conditioning lines, the slowness of transport rotations from the port metropolis of Douala (where the target is set at 220 daily tonnes), as well as the inherent constraints related to equipment maintenance.
To address this sustainably, structural investments are underway, including the imminent installation of new automated carousels and the reinforcement of palletization to streamline handling.
To avoid the recurrence of such conjunctural tensions, the government strategy relies on enhanced synergy between the historical operator and third-party bottling actors, coupled with rigorous vigilance on industrial safety devices. By maintaining pressure on supply cadences and demanding strict operational discipline from all stakeholders, the executive aims to guarantee the resilience of the national energy ecosystem and durably preserve household purchasing power.
