The drinking water supply has seen a significant improvement in several areas of Nkolbong, particularly in the Oxford and Internat neighborhoods. This progress is the result of the hydraulic reinforcement work carried out by the technical teams of the Yaounde Agglomeration Regional Division (DIVRY) of CAMWATER.


Conducted over the past 48 hours, these interventions have significantly strengthened the existing network's supply. Since the night of August 8, 2026, the populations of Nkolbong have been benefiting from a more regular and improved water pressure.


Reinforcement from the new Nkolkondi pipeline.


The consistency of the work has primarily focused on the hydraulic reinforcement of the existing network from the newly laid pipeline in Nkolkondi. This major operation aims to optimize distribution capacities and improve the supply to areas that have faced difficulties in accessing water.


To date, hundreds of households in the affected sectors have already benefited from this improvement, which responds to a significant expectation of the populations.


A cleaning campaign to secure the network


However, the significant increase in volume and pressure in the network has led to the appearance of certain leaks and breaks in existing pipeline sections. In response to this situation, CAMWATER's technical teams have immediately launched a cleaning campaign to identify and repair the various leak points, with the precious help of the populations, who are called upon to report these leaks and breaks.


This intervention aims to consolidate the gains of the hydraulic reinforcement and ensure optimal distribution of drinking water in the concerned neighborhoods.

Through these works, CAMWATER reaffirms its commitment to continuously improving the quality and regularity of drinking water supply in urban and semi-urban areas of Cameroon.


In Yaounde, as in other cities in the country, the technical teams remain mobilized to strengthen infrastructure, optimize existing networks, and provide concrete responses to the growing needs of the populations.
