The U.S. Embassy in Brazzaville has confirmed the effective resumption of shipments to the Pointe-Noire port terminal, ensuring access for Congolese copper and zinc to global markets.

The interruption of activities at this mining complex had heavily weighed on national industrial indicators. During the first quarter of the current year, the suspension of works caused a drop of more than half in the country's metallurgical production, leading to a decrease of nearly 68% in copper cathode production and a contraction of over 35% in zinc ingot volumes. This halt in shipments contributed to a global decline in the Republic of Congo's merchandise exports.
