The technical inspection mission aimed to verify the state of the infrastructure after the resumption of maritime traffic, ordered following the dredging of the channel. The coordinated action between the port administration and the Maritime, River and Lake Circumscription of the Littoral has allowed the entire crew to be rescued without any human losses, while preventing the risks of pollution of the aquatic environment.

Investigations conducted under the direction of the Commander and Director of the Capitainerie, Mekinda Élingui Jean Bertrand, have drawn up an assessment of the material constraints related to the collision. The initial findings of the regional administrative authorities, represented by the Governor of the Littoral, the Prefect of Wouri and the Mayor of the city of Douala, serve as a basis for the formulation of 8 major ministerial recommendations. These strategic directives target the reinforcement of nighttime piloting procedures, the improvement of lagunaire traffic surveillance protocols, and the speed of disengagement maneuvers in the event of a naval emergency.

The rapid reaction of the emergency teams preserves the import-export flows of the Port of Douala-Bonabéri, ensuring the safety of naval maneuvers without paralyzing the country's commercial supply. The upcoming publication of the final conclusions of the regulatory investigation will establish technical responsibilities while consolidating the norms for protecting human life at sea.
