Following the reduction in Asian production, which fell to 735.85 million tons, clinker shipments abroad surged to 9.399 million tons, while cement shipments reached 4.1 million tons.


Revealed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange during the presentation of China Shanshui Cement Group's accounts, these massive deliveries aim to absorb a national inventory rate climbing to 64.5% of Chinese capacity, amid widespread operating losses estimated between 2 and 3 billion yuan.

Valued at 97.317 billion FCFA in 2025 for an import volume of 3,106,782 tons, Cameroonian expenditures on clinker purchases now represent 1.9% of the country's external current outflows. 

Meanwhile, regional competition intensifies under the pressure of Dangote Cement, whose raw material shipments from Nigeria to Cameroon and Ghana rose by 56.7% to reach 754,000 tons, even as the group's local subsidiary recorded a decline in sales to 596,800 tons.

The multiplication of these external supply sources offers local cement producers the opportunity to reduce their production costs. 


However, the stabilization of imported clinker prices will enable regulatory authorities to negotiate a lasting reduction in the price of a cement bag on the national market.
