This tool, which replaced an older system in service since 2007, adopts the international ISO 20022 standard to connect 71 partner institutions, comprising 59 credit institutions, 6 public treasuries, and 6 national directorates of the central bank. This simultaneous switch simplifies the automated processing of checks, direct debits, and ordinary transfers between financial institutions operating in the 6 in the 6 member states.


The standardization of virtual exchanges reduces clearing delays while securing retail transactions, which are essential for subregional commerce.

Continuing the harmonization of its monetary flows, the central bank is preparing the future launch of a real-time execution module, in parallel with the deployment of the SYGMA V10 network reserved for large-value settlements.

Connected to the pan-African PAPSS system, the subregional institution aims to streamline cross-border payments to ease pressure on foreign currencies.

Ultimately, the scaling up of the device strengthens the efficiency of the banking system in the CEMAC zone. Moreover, the upcoming activation of instant transfers will reduce fund availability time for all economic actors in the subregion.
