The recalibration of clean energy production projects illustrates the government's doctrinal shift towards mixed and more agile exploitation formulas. The public administration has outlined the new technical specifics of the Dibombé complex, now concessioned to an Italian operator. The initial configuration of the facility has been reduced from 63 MW to 25 MW for the hydroelectric part, rebalanced by the addition of a 15 MW photovoltaic solar power plant. The memorandum of understanding for the completion of maturation studies is being validated by government approval circuits, with the goal of combining the CDP's striking force with the operational implementation of the construction sites.
The sectoral emergency plan includes simultaneous planning of high-capacity dams and rapid injection units to secure the interconnected network. The Cameroonian authorities are maintaining priority on the Kikot project, designed to provide 500 MW to the national grid, in parallel with the development of the Minkouma site and the finalization of contractual agreements for the Bini à Warak dam. To fill the construction delays of these large production centers, the ministry is deploying, under the aegis of the World Bank, feasibility studies for three large solar power plants in the northern regions. The Cameroonian call for funds is specifically targeting the energy transportation segment, essential for stabilizing the financial balances of SOCADEL and fluidifying the supply of industrial areas.
