The first pillar of these bilateral discussions brought together Cameroon's chief financial officer and Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The talks explored new avenues for cooperation in financial services, a field where the Luxembourg marketplace constitutes a global hub of expertise, particularly in financial engineering, sustainable finance, and the structuring of bond instruments. For Yaoundé, this exchange paves the way for a strengthened partnership focused on developing the Public Treasury's operational capacity.
Building on this roadmap, Louis Paul Motaze also met with Bertrand Dumont, Director General of the French Treasury. Central to the discussions was an assessment of the global economic and financial landscape within the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC). As the sub-region grapples with commodity price volatility and monetary refinancing challenges, the meeting allowed for an alignment of analyses on mechanisms to support monetary stability and the continuation of structural reform programs undertaken with development partners.
