This agreement is part of the "Alternative Solutions to Minawao Camp" project, implemented with the support of the European Union, the German Cooperation (GIZ), and UNHCR. It reflects the shared commitment of the two institutions to improve water infrastructure and guarantee a reliable supply of drinking water, while supporting local development efforts and social cohesion.
Through this partnership, CAMWATER will provide its technical expertise for the design, implementation, and monitoring of water supply systems, while UNHCR will continue to support the protection of refugees and strengthen their resilience, in collaboration with Cameroonian authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, the representatives of the two institutions welcomed a strategic collaboration that will contribute to improving the living conditions of refugees and host communities, while addressing the challenges related to demographic pressure and water resource availability.
The signing of this agreement marks an important step in the implementation of sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations and reaffirms CAMWATER's commitment to ensuring equitable access to drinking water, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and its public service mission.
